Synopsis/Details
It's Danielle's first night at work. She's a well-to-do gal with a nice life, but is setting out to earn her keep by working her first job. Mitchell's Magic Market is that place! It's a pretty normal market, save for an oddball character known only as "Sarge" who treats everything as if it were boot camp.
And luckily for Danielle, he's the other half of the night crew tonight!
Shortly into the shift, a troubled young man named Jase reveals that he's been hiding in a bin for hours, and holds up the now-closed store. Sarge is brave at first, until Jase reveals a handgun - and then he flees, leaving poor Danielle all alone with this criminal!
He's a silly sort, it seems, and not at all prone to dastardly deeds. He quickly becomes enamored by Danielle, and she quickly becomes curious of Jase's predicament in life. With the police outside, and believing it to be a hostage situation, Jase takes Danielle to the food court to treat her to dinner. What a nice guy!
Dinner soon turns to sorrow, as Danielle's prying uncovers a troubled young man that never had a chance in life, due to a troublesome mother. She also finds out that Jase's gun isn't even loaded, the dork!
Appealing to his better side, Danielle soon turns Jase to accepting what he has done, and asks him to agree that once he's out of jail for this robbery, they'll meet up for lunch sometime. Jase has another plan, however, and it involves the lone bullet he keeps in his pocket, for that day that he's finally had enough of himself.
Danielle refuses to accept such an outcome, however, and appeals to Jase to trust her. The two soon run out of the store, with Jase now wearing a "work uniform", and claiming the robber escaped through the back!
The next day, Danielle brings Jase in and asks for him to be hired, despite his shoddy past. With Sarge having quit overnight, the manager agrees, and hopefully will be setting Jase on the proper path of redemption in life.
