Synopsis/Details
In the first episode we are introduced to Jake, an app worker with many side gigs he's cobbling together into full-time income. Jake is tasked with delivering food to an apartment complex, but quickly finds out that he is being scammed by a neighbor who has switched apartment number plates so he can get the next door people's food. The two neighbors argue and since Jake is a non-confrontational person he decides to leave them to sort out the problem on their own. Jake then goes to his second gig of the night, hosting a speed dating event at a bar, but is confused when he gets there and sees that no one else has shown up. He meets Tigger, a peppy bartender who is excited to be a part of the speed dating event. Soon the daters start to trickle in to the event, overwhelming Jake with their intense personalities, including a misogynist douche bag, a woman who has shown up already drunk and a mousy woman who doesn't seem to know how to speak loud enough to be heard. To make matters worse it turns out that Tigger has recently ghosted the misogynist douchebag after briefly dating and wants Jake to help her hide from him. His night turns to pure chaos as he tries to manage the group of rowdy daters, climaxing when the douche bag misogynist recognizes Tigger and tries to confront her. Except Jake stands in the way, causing the man to trip and injure himself, ending the night. A late dater shows up as the event wraps up and she and Jake hit it off. But he forgets to grab her phone number! All is resolved when Jake goes back to food delivering and happens to deliver a meal to the late dater, giving him another chance to make a connection.
