In a near future, thanks to a mysterious and unexplained worldwide event dubbed "The Curtain", every fictional character from 20th century literature, becomes alive. But how will humans and these new "people" begin to coexist?
Synopsis/Details:

(Please note: This is the script for a comic-book series I've been working on called "Fictionalized" ("Fictional lives"). The first issue (Chapter 1) is attached, namely, "Looney F--kin' Toons, Yo". The scripts for the second issue, "World's Sh*ttiest Heroes", and the third, "Ragna-Rock-'N-Roll", will be attached shortly. I do also see this working as a TV series. It is a crime/satire/action story that plays with the ideas of "mythical figures" in pop-culture.)

Years ago, a mysterious event known only as "The Curtain" somehow caused every character from 20th Century Literature become alive. A population of literally millions now needing a place to live, work, etc. World governments agreed to "donate" parts of their respective countries for these people to live in. In the US, the entire state of New York has become the new home for millions, with the hub being in the city of New York itself. Each borough has been transformed and renamed using different literary styles to reflect the people living there, re: "Fun Town", "Future-o-Polis", "The Crystal Kingdom", etc. Each borough has it’s own set of specific laws commensurate with, and reflecting, the themes and
laws of each different genre. On any given day, you'll be strolling down the street and see everyone from Winnie the Pooh, to Frankenstein, to Professor Moriarty. The story opens with a murder in the alleys of Manhattan, now dubbed "Fun Town", in the city of New York, now called Coyote City. Hard-boiled cop, Othello Brindle, and his rookie partner, Charles Cyrus Syphus are assigned to the case. There's a serial-killer on the loose, but his kill methods reflect something out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon. Their search leads them to the mysterious, and alcoholic, ex-magician, Monsieur L'Etrange, who's cryptic nature and severe anti-social tendencies make for a difficult conversation. After an attempt on his life, L'Etrange ends up in a coma, leaving the detectives with no direction. But their search will out them into contact with all sorts of strange characters, some familiar, some not. The next two chapters tell of the detective's uncomfortable and awkward meetings with a certain crime-fighting duo, "The Paladin", and "The Night-Black Dog", as well as their touch-and-go interviews with a literal "rock-god", "Thorrrr", and his misfit and somewhat OCD brother, "Low-Key".
