Synopsis/Details
JACK BLUME is a young, schlubby, professional assassin. He is partnered with straight-laced, gentleman-spy, ALAN TEDESKY.
While blowing off steam at a local watering hole, Jack meets AMY ANDERSON, a meek, yet intriguing woman. Jack’s efforts to impress Amy lead him to indicate that he and Alan are used-car salesmen.
Meanwhile, Jack and Alan’s arch-nemesis, Bob, the evil-genius, is enacting a new plan with the help of his top agent, MIRANDA. Bob’s plan involves saving the environment through nefarious means.
Jack begs Alan to go along with the cover story as car salesmen. Alan goes along in order to watch Jack squirm and presents the plan to their gruff-boss, HUGH MASTERSON.
While Bob’s plan continues to flounder due to the incompetence of his henchmen, Jack and Alan are introduced to COLT LONGACRE, the over-the-top owner of “Colt’s Cars” and their new boss.
When Jack accidently makes his first sale and rubs the commission in Alan’s face, the competition is on between two men used to winning by any means necessary. The intensity is increased when Colt announces the beginning of the monthly sales contest.
When Miranda shows up at the car lot to buy a new van for Bob, she recognizes fellow agent Alan and avoids him in favor of Jack, who she is unfamiliar with. Jack is happy to go on a test-drive with the attractive Miranda. As the two leave the lot, Amy shows up looking for Jack. Alan begrudgingly takes Amy on a test-drive.
When the two couples meet up at a four way stop, things get interesting. Miranda inadvertently gives a clue as to her real identity to Jack, Amy finds herself attracted to Alan, Jack is upset at Alan, and Alan finds an opportunity to get back at Jack. One souped-up test drive later, Alan and Amy are making out in surprisingly-roomy, backseat of a sports car.
Bob continues his plan for the environment while Miranda finds herself oddly attracted to Jack. Jack, meanwhile, has figured out that Miranda is a trained-killer and believes she is there to kill Alan or himself or both.
When Miranda show up at the lot, Jack nervously takes her on another test drive. They bond over heavy-metal music and fuel economy. Soon, they are making out in the even-roomier, backseat of Miranda’s new economy car.
Miranda goes to Bob, light on her toes to find her boss has turned to a darker plan, believing that no one else really cares about the environment. Bob casually reveals his plan to kill Alan and his partner, Jack. Jack’s identity, as well as her boss’s darkness, comes as a surprise to Miranda who finds herself conflicted.
Miranda reveals herself to Jack at gunpoint. Jack confesses that he pursued Miranda because he never believed he could be with someone so hot. Won over by his simple confession, Miranda decides to try going legit. She believes she will have to take Alan to Bob to make a clean break.
Jack advises Alan that he is leaving the assassin business in order to go legit as a car salesman. Alan agrees to concede the monthly competition to Jack to get him a leg up on his new, legitimate life.
As the party for the monthly sales contest winds down, Colt prepares to hand the prize money to Jack. Amy walks in and pays cash for her sports car to Alan, causing Alan to win the contest. Upset, Jack leaves the office.
Later, Jack comes back to confront Alan as Alan is packing his desk. The two work out the situation but Miranda arrives and wounds Alan in order to take him to Bob, still believing that is the only way out for her. Amy arrives and wounds Jack. Amy has been working for Bob as well and intends to take Jack to Alan.
The two women-spies start to fight it out as their wounded boyfriends watch.
Bob arrives with an explosive device and leaves with Jack and Alan while Miranda and Amy are distracted.
A high-speed pursuit results in the Miranda and Amy teaming up to save Jack and Alan. Bob, who escapes to return home, has unfortunately forgotten about the bomb in the back of his mini-van.
