A socially awkward 20 year old (Vanessa) with the ability to slow , control and stop heartbeats, old meets a washed up former marine (Maxwell). Maxwell has a problem, he sees therapist because of a repressed incident, that he can not remember. This has affected his attitude in life, made him unable to love or care, it made him upset and depressed. He has also been bullied his wholes life by his brother (Kelvin). Vanessa has a strange connection with heartbeats, She can hear peoples heart beats, to the point where she has the ability to control it ( she rarely uses it). Her real father did not love her, and her mother committed suicide. She does not have friends as she is socially awkward, but loves to listen to music to stop hearing the noise. She also loves to sing and is a great singer. Vanessa meets Maxwell, and he becomes a father figure to her, as she has also helped him with his depression. Things however become worse as she becomes raped and abused by Kelvin and his goons. This whole ordeal helps Maxwell to remember his repressed memory of being raped as a boy by his brothers friend. Vanessa is consequently kidnapped which prompts Maxwell to rescue her. She ends up saving his life a second time by allowing his heart to continue beating. In the end they both get satisfaction over their abusers, as she becomes the daughter he never had, and he the father she never had. Thank you for your consideration McDalan L. Francois
