The script for "HOUNDED" follows Zach, a vlogger who retreats to a remote island for a new adventure and healing after a breakup. Initially skeptical of the supernatural, Zach's experience on the island blends eerie occurrences with local lore, particularly after meeting Savannah and encountering a group of locals. As Zach delves into the island's beauty and mysteries, he faces pranks and sinister games from the locals, intertwining with the island's cursed history. The line between supernatural forces and human malevolence blurs, creating a thrilling narrative that keeps audiences guessing.
From the BLKLST -
Similar to something like PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and THE DEEP HOUSE, HOUNDED is a found-footage horror project about influencers and ghosts. Horror fans might be interested in the script's compelling horror set pieces and its relatively fresh take on the found footage genre. Like most found footage projects, HOUNDED should be incredibly inexpensive to produce, most likely having a budget in the micro-budget range, which could make many horror producers incredibly interested in the project. While found footage isn't perhaps as popular as it once was a few years ago, there is still an audience for it. Zach is a compelling character, and it's possible that a well-known actor or influencer could be interested in the role, which could raise the script's visibility. HOUNDED needs to clear up some of its writing and a few plot and character elements before industry insiders would seriously consider it. The good news is that the script's incredibly low budget should go a long way in helping it reach production, especially since it's the sort of project that could easily be self-funded. The script should serve as a strong sample of the writer's ability to craft engaging and fresh horror set pieces.
