In The Trees

Page Count:

Age Rating:

Visitors to a wooded country side are stalked by something that moves quickly between the trees. It moves like an animal but they hear the grinding of metal too.

A group of friends decide to have a mini break, in a forest camping area. They first visit the local town and meet a handful of locals, and visitors.
After a night in the town’s motel, and a friendly warning from the sheriff, the group head into the forest. On the first night camping they get disturbed by a familiar face from the town. He warns them of danger, but the group pay little attention.
After exploring the area, the next day, the group find a cellphone and an abandoned campsite. The cellphone has footage of something, but the group can’t agree what it is.
One by one, the group fall victim to the creature in the forest.
There’s only one house in the area, and it belongs to a physically disabled recluse, but maybe he can help some how.

Main characters:
Killer - The killer begins as a creepy black shape, stalking in the woods. As the storyline progresses, we find out it’s a disabled man with custom, homemade prosthetic attachments, allowing him to be more agile than an average person and travel at high speeds. Likes art.
Killer backstory - Born with disabilities, to a single mother in a small rural community. Looked upon as shameful by the community they are forced to move to a much more secluded area away from the community. Driven by the anger he feels for being marginalised by normal people, he kills anyone who comes to the area.
Local Police - investigating abandoned vehicle in the area and searching for missing people.
Out of town hunters - illegally hunting in the killer area, Catalyst for police involvement.
Campers on a mini break - there to have a good time, must fight to survive. 1 survivor.
Bigfoot enthusiasts - looking for signs of bigfoot, wrong place, wrong time. they find a klller, but capture footage of the killer before dying. Footage found on phone, by one of the campers.
