But young Johnny must confront his demons and he does this with the help of spirits of an old Indian relative and a beautiful woman. Johnny Cash is a worldwide legend and still loved, listened to by many. He's been referred to as "Man In Black" as his dress style on stage reflects that, and "Man in Black" is an actual song title of his. And that Johnny Cash distinctive musical sound? This story begins in the 1970 time period in Oklahoma. The younger Johnny Cash is a mechanic working hard and playing in the local music circuit as opportunities arise. He's young and doesn't listen much but to his own gut and the occasional good advice that slides his way. He's slick with the women too, but respectful until the drugs take over his behavior. Johnny wants to be someone, particularly in the music business. Being in the right place at the right time, Johnny is working at small local garage and meets a beautiful woman, Ginger, who happens to be a music promoter. Their contacts are exchanged and it's up to Johnny to do something about it, to have a shot at a larger stage.,,to be someone. But Johnny doesn't have a solid band yet, good enough for the big stage. And in the midst of this new offering, Johnny has woman who he can't stand, but deals with her as he can. One day, Johnny's had enough and drives away. Johnny leaves his job temporarily to think about the situation. He ends up in Weleetka, OK. While stopping at a local place to eat, he overhears some good music coming from a house garage. Checking it out, he finds some younger boys inside playing music. Johnny meets and recruits these boys for his band. He's searching for that great sound, the sound known as Johnny Cash's signature sound as we all know it by listening to his music. Johnny and the boys achieve this by playing in the house garage attracting many of the local town folk. Glady's, one of the boy's mother, records the music. Johnny and the boys practice and end up achieving that sound. They get a shot to try it out a local venue, at the local supermarket in Weleetka, OK in hopes to attract more fans and get paid. YES, they achieve this! The entire town shows up to see Johnny and his band knock it out! Johnny and his band are achieving success, more fans. However, he's got problems as they go forward. His ex-girlfriend and his progressive drug abuse is becoming more problematic. An old Indian chief spirit appears to help him with the drug problem as he doesn't want Johnny to throw his career and new success down the drain. But does Johnny, with his fame and bad boy persona, listen to an old man spirit? Hence, the beautiful woman spirit, Adowa, takes over trying to convince Johnny to get right. Next stop? Johnny and the band venture to the Tulsa (Oklahoma) Fairgrounds Arena. Big names play and Johnny and the boys, now named The Weleetka Outlaws (Charley, Jerry, Eldon and Tommy), are listed in the local talent spot. Johnny allows his demons to take over and almost misses his chance on stage. And his ex-girlfriend intervenes and starts a scuffle between Johnny and his ex-girlfriend's new side man. Where's Johnny? Somehow, he shows and manages to make another successful performance...better than ever! Thanks to Gladys for recording the band's music, Johnny and The Weleetka Outlaws band earn a trip to Nashville, TN to record their songs. Again, success. However, it's here where the band finds out about him talking to the old Indian man and beautiful woman spirit. Johnny and his band continue knocking it out it out of the park with their success. Their music promoter, the beautiful woman, Ginger, gets the band a shot to play at McAlester prison (Oklahoma State Penitentiary). They achieve big success there. Through it all, Johnny and his band rose to fame, their music playing on every music channel. Yet, Johnny's demons stood in his way...pills. Thanks to the old Indian man and beautiful woman spirit, Adowa, they helped Johnny make the better choice by throwing the pills away and continue with his success. Thee movie script, Man In Black 2, The Show, follows this script and is already been written. A huge number of Johnny's hit songs are used in these scripts.
