Nothing but Love

Synopsis
ED PLINTH is the single, goodhearted but incompetent owner of Joy's Toys, a struggling toy store in a failing mall in Bay View, California. His two remaining employees are KATIE, a recently widowed woman in her early thirties who has rambunctious, twin four-year-old sons to raise, and WALTER, a likable eccentric who can often be found in a self-induced trance.
An apparent chance encounter with attractive business consultant DOMINIQUE CARTER leads Ed to believe that her radical suggestions may save his business and possibly lead to romance, if he accepts them. Smitten, he signs an unaffordable contract with Dominique and impulsively invites her to go on a cruise which, due to his oversight, turns out to be only for nudists.
Also seemingly by chance, Katie meets BRIAN HOVLAND, a wealthy businessman who feigns interest in starting a relationship. In fact, Brian and Dominique are secretly working together, along with the mall's manager, MR. POE, to force out the remaining quirky tenants. Their goal is to facilitate the eventual low-price sale of a worthless property to Hovland's company, who in turn will redevelop it as a meat processing plant.
The pressure of strained finances and updating his business is too great for Ed. He suffers a nervous breakdown and ends up in a psychiatric hospital run by DR. PEMBROSE, a geriatric nymphomaniac. After being rescued from the hospital by Walter, Ed is faced with another setback: in Ed's absence, Poe has succeeded in permanently shutting down Joy's Toys. Believing his life has been reduced to nothing, Ed abandons hope and takes to a life on the streets.
Ed's and the other tenants' unfair eviction ends up being fortuitous when a sinkhole devours the property, rendering it worthless.
Forward-thinking Katie, who quietly loves Ed, takes him in and reveals that she has, over time, covertly relocated a considerable amount of his inventory to a safe site, in anticipation of him losing his business. Ed, who has been shy about expressing his love for Katie, realizes that her selfless act could only have been done if she felt the same way about him. He also has come to understand that he cannot succeed without her love—and superior managerial skills. Together they open Katie's Toys in a nearby neighborhood. Ed, who had been skeptical about the ability to mix business and a serious relationship, now enjoys the rewards of both.
