Synopsis/Details
A month earlier, there is a town birthday party for one of the town's 21-year-old women. She turns up missing at the end of the gala.
Donald Purdy awakens to find himself in a dank, smelly Root Cellar. His last memory is of him and Sheriff Wayne being stalked by something big while heading back to town; everything else is a blur. Slowly, his memory begins to fill in.
State Property Surveyor Donald Purdy arrives in the new Yuma, Arizona territory. His assignment is two-fold, one, to undertake the job given to his former apprentice, Randall Waller, and two, to find his now missing apprentice.
It should have been an easy assignment for this small wild segment of the territory.
Yet somehow, Randall is now missing. Wayne has agreed to help escort Purdy out on his survey work for a week and search for the missing Randall Waller.
Purdy goes over to the General Store and Meets its owner, Marty Parsons.
Before sunrise, the two men meet in the hotel lobby and get their saddle packs ready. Just as Purdy and Wayne load up, they are met by the frantic Reverend and Mrs. Snodgrass.
Their 24-year-old daughter went missing in the night.
The Sheriff gives Purdy a final choice to opt out of the ride, and he refuses. The two men ride out to the plains.
We cut to Ms. Jesse's house, where she is in her root-cellar undressing.
Ms. Jesse is then joined by two other young women who all step into a huge hot tub of water.
The women bathe each other and then exit as Ms. Jesse calls in Zeke, who is also naked.
Zeke takes her through a ritual, and when they finish, he pours her body over with a honey and oil concoction.
The story culminates with the Sheriff and Purdy running into the Lowell homestead and then escaping. The end has a surprise, unexpected twist, sure to wow the audience.
