Synopsis/Details
A lonely Man lives his boring life in a bachelor suite. His only fun: calling sellers from the daily newspaper classified. When he finds an advertisement from an old lady who sells a piano, he is into game. He calls the seller but the piano turns to be too expensive. He decides to play with the woman to reduce the price. He plans to call her back impersonating different buyers with different backgrounds. While watching TV, he gets his first impersonation idea: a military officer, who wants to buy the piano for his daughter. With changing voice he improvises the officer who becomes upset knowing the high price. Next time he calls the seller again but now he impersonates a little boy and his old, disabled grandmother. In this role play he pretends that the granny gets heart attack hearing about the price. His next prank is playing a piano agent, whose name he made up from the telephone book. He encourages the seller lady to play the piano over the phone and sell it for more. Then he plans to finish his game with a snappy twist but runs out of idea. He goes to the kitchen for a snack. When he cuts his finger while peeling an apple, he is ready for a grandiose finale. He calls the lady again and impersonates a doctor, who tells her that a serious mental patient called her before as a piano agent. Then the imaginary "patient" kills the "doctor". The man is satisfied with the game but suddenly realizes that he went too far and the old lady, living with cardiac failure, might have been killed. He calls her and reveals himself. He shows sincere ruefulness and apologizes for the bad joke. During their conversation they open up their deep loneliness: the Woman, who lost her son and husband and the orphan and divorced Man, whose only contact with people is his silly phone pranks day by day. The chance is there for them to become friends and find a lost son and a lost mother in each other.
