Synopsis/Details
Chaucer's medieval classic, the collected tales of high chivalry and low humor, tragic romance and raunchy sex, bold adventure and sorry pratfalls. All told by Chaucer as the myriad Pilgrims are woven into a fascinating look at the tumultuous Middle Ages -- an age just like ours. As the pilgrimage gets underway with quirky characters aplenty, they agree to tell two stories each. First is "The Knight's Tale". Two blood-brothers are captured and fall out over love of a princess. As they gather armies for a brawling duel, even the Gods of Olympus are stumped as to who should win the princess. As the tournament gets underway, each man -- and girl -- fights for what's most precious, and gets what they asked for... In "The Miller's Tale", an astronomer lusts after an old miller's wife, while a soft-spoken minstrel also pines. The miller is tricked into preparing for the Apocalypse, the two lovers rut like rabbits, but the minstrel throws in a hot iron that crashes their party... Woven between, stopped and started, is "The Cook's Tale", a farce that rapidly unravels as the Cook forgets, starts over, gets drunk, and passes out... Meanwhile the Pilgrims entertain, flirt, begrudge, and plot -- and get called back when a murder is uncovered!.. One-hour pilot. Adaptation of the classic story collection, public domain, license-free. Similar to "Game of Thrones" and "Once Upon a Time".
