I wrote a simple story about this concept. It was thematically strong, but it didn't have any proactive investigation scenes in it that some kind of readers like to see. It was pure focus on theme which I personally enjoy at times. So I actually placed the lead in the background and instead made two more proactive characters into the leads. Which is a lot of characters all of a sudden, but the story is now faster paced as I couldn't focus as much on the deep intellectual stuff. I miss that stuff as it's completely unique while detective stories are not unique, but so be it. All these characters needed pages and it turned out to be 16 pages long. I don't know if that's a terrible thing, but now it seems unlikely that anyone would film it as it's a bit long.
