Synopsis/Details
A brother and sister live together with their teenage nephew in a Los Angeles apartment. Their living situation is shaken up when an old friend moves in following a breakup causing uncle and nephew to share a room. To cause more tension a lazy neighbour is always in their apartment eating their food and getting in everyone’s way. They spend most of their time in their apartment, at a coffee shop where the aunt works and at a local college where the uncle and neighbour are studying. When not at school the nephew spends most of his time making fun of his uncle and showcasing his social media skills, often referencing Facebook and Twitter. The uncle is the brunt of many jokes, mainly regarding his continued student lifestyle and lack of work ethic. Although happy to have their friend move in, he is very unhappy with having to share a room with his nephew and is determined to regain his space. The aunt is the only one who works and often tries to talk about her day at the coffee shop. The others are not very interested in what she does though which frustrates her. What's it similar to? Think Two and a Half Men and Wendell and Vinnie with regards to their family issues and the comedy style. Much of their time will be spent in each other’s pockets trying to help/hinder and make fun of each other and their lives. Each episode will follow it's own story with some continuing developments throughout the series in the same way that Two and a Half Men and Friends did.

The Writer: Mike Whittaker

I am a keen screenwriter from the UK. I studied Film Making and Digital Editing at The New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and have a BSc degree in Digital Media. I have written a number of TV pilots and am working on some feature film scripts as well. My main focus has been comedy and drama for TV but I have a variety of other genres also in development. Most recently I wrote a US style sit com then produced a table read filming of the pilot. It went very well and I am very happy with how it cut together. It would be great to go a step further and film the full pilot as I'm very proud of the project and believe it has potential. Go to bio
