Doppel Nuns

This story is envisioned as a TV/webseries pilot episode. The idea came while visiting a convent and a monastery in Peru.It is based on visits to the Santa Catalina Monastery in Arequipa and the Convent of Santo Domingo in Cusco. Doppel Nuns is a thriller/adult drama series, which takes place in Europe. We follow the journey of Sara and Lupe, a pair of twins that both share a dark history, but have more recently decided to travel separate paths… Lupe, the more sensible of the two, has become a devout Catholic nun, and has pledged her allegiance to God in the hope that she can atone for past sins . Sara, the more rogue personality, is an unemployed alcoholic. She cannot move past the dark history and wallows in her own despair and misery. Unbeknownst to the pair, the beginning of Lupe’s new leap of faith has its own demons lurking around the corner. A benedict monk wearing a friendly face, takes advantage of a struggling Lupe, convincing her to join him for drinks out of work. When Lupe doesn’t return home, and the police prove frivolous in helping, Sara has but one option. She must enter the convent under the guise of her sister, and uncover the truth behind the disappearance of her sister, and others along the way. What she finds is most disturbing. The bond of sisterhood is tested against the evils of man.
