Synopsis/Details
F/K/A 'Henry & Harvey'
Lone wolf ERICA is a seemingly laidback ex-agoraphobe who has lived in tiny Colchester her entire life. She moonlights as a comedian, securing non-paid gigs around town. Struggling to pay rent, the consensus among the townsfolk, including her MOM and tightly-wound landlord DANIEL, is that she should probably get a roommate, a suggestion she is vehemently resistant to.
Meanwhile, precocious LAURA, a prep-school freshman, is working with her AV Club produce a documentary about a chilling mystery that shocked - and was eventually forgotten by - Colchester three years earlier: The disappearance of local stoner, TRIP. No-one knows what happened to him, but he’s presumed dead. Laura isn’t so sure, and is determined to uncover the truth. In doing so, she inadvertently discovers the beginnings of a much deeper conspiracy.
'Homebodies' is first and foremost a comedy, with underpinnings of mystery and themes of friendship, isolation, mental health, and mortality. Each episode will feature a self-contained story with the town's quirky inhabitants, amongst a season-long arc in which the protagonists band together to solve the long-forgotten local mystery.
