LIFE BEAT MOM ACT 1: Terri(30s) a hospital laundry aid, studies to be an RN, and (Big Gene) (40's) a thug beats Terri and is arrested. Terri's best friend Resheeka (30) sets up a date. Terri goes out on the blind date, and it is a disaster. Terri is introduced to a new part-time cook Quentin Price. ACT 2: Terri picks Gene Jr up from jail, though Terri is talked into coming to meet Quentin's mother where things become intimate. Terri, Gene Jr, Quentin, and Ms. Price go to the carnival and have a great time. Terri and Quentin fall in love. Terri hates Resheeka, doesn’t like her relationship with Quentin. But when after Gene Jr. wins the tournament game for the championship, Terri witnesses Quentin's mother's psychosis. ACT 3 Terri gets an internship and takes the nurse examination. After the basketball championship Gene Jr is confronted by a few guys who know his dad and threaten him, but Quentin is there for the rescue Quentin's mother has a mild heart attack. Terri learns Quentin’s real age. Terri breaks up with Quentin when Big Gene is released. ACT 4 Terri can't get over Quentin. Big Gene hits Gene jr and Terri gets an order of protection. Terri explains to Resheeka that she is in love with Quentin but can't do his age and will not be with Big Gene. Quentin's mother denies that she has a problem, but dies suddenly. So, Quentin drops off Gene Jr after a big game, but Terri has a bittersweet closure when Big Gene returns.
