Synopsis/Details
Olivia spends her weekends with her estranged father Brian camping and learning survival skills while he plays her conspiracy theory podcasts. Olivia misses her father and struggles living with her distant mother, Michelle. Brian is obsessive about conspiracies. While at work he witnesses someone coughing up blood. Brian contacts a forum, convinced that it’s the start of a pandemic. The moderator tells them to meet him at a secluded location. Brian contacts Michelle and Olivia but Michelle refuses to leave. Olivia sneaks out of the house and they depart. They arrive at a forrest and meet Matt, the forum moderator and three others, Paul, Kristen and Martin. At first it’s like a holiday until Matt discovers that they still have their phones and orders them to be destroyed. Olivia confesses to Brian that mementos of her loved ones were on her phone. Brian empathises but still thinks it was the right decision. Over time the campers run low on food. Paul suggests visiting a nearby town but Matt fears it will expose them. Paul attempts to leave but is struck by Matt and dies. After burying Paul, Matt tells Brian to keep watch overnight. Brian lets the campers escape. Kristen pleads for Brian and Olivia to leave but Brian says he can’t. Eventually Olivia loses patience with Brian and questions if there is a pandemic. Olivia runs away from camp but spots a police search and returns. Olivia tells Brian that they have to leave and they try to sneak out of camp. Matt catches them as they flee into the forest. Matt tackles Brian but Brian overpowers him and leaves Matt sobbing on the ground. Brian and Olivia arrive at their car where the police are waiting. Brian watches on as Olivia is taken away.

The Writer: Patrick Foster

Freelance scriptwriter based in Manchester, UK. I've worked on various freelance independent productions working as an editor, videographer and general assistant. In what little spare time I have I try writing scripts both short and feature films. Hoping to eventually have the funds and network to make one myself. Some of the scripts that I'm sharing have already been picked up directors and producers but unfortunately for various reasons the production was put on indefinite hiatus and now I've decided put these scripts on the public domain. Please note scripts that are samples only are Not part of the public domain. I hope you enjoy them and I would appreciate any feedback. Go to bio
