Synopsis/Details
“Shelter Heights” is written along the lines of films like “Taken,” yet it also pays homage to such classics as “Key Largo.” The story is about Jack Faulkner, an Army interpreter on a short leave from Afghanistan, who returns home to find that his wife, Janet, is seeking a divorce. Determined to keep his family together, Jack takes Janet and their daughter Lily on a weekend trip to the remote island of Shelter Heights. However, Jack soon realizes their hotel is a front for a drug operation run by the fugitive Bobby Redmond. When Redmond and his associates take Janet and Lily hostage, Jack’s only option for help is the affable but inexperienced police deputy, Deepak Ray. With time running out to save his family and evacuate the island before a massive hurricane makes landfall, Jack must employ every skill he knows… or he will lose his family for good.

The Writer: Thomas Jamieson

I have a background in journalism with articles published in numerous magazines and journals. In addition to writing screenplays and TV pilots, I've had four stage plays produced, and promos and commercials featured on broadcast and cable networks. I do not adhere to a specific genre, preferring to test myself as a writer with each new script. Artistic expression and pushing creative boundaries with commercially viable work is the balance I strive for in all my work. I'm not sure this applies to my stint as an amateur heavyweight boxer.
