Synopsis/Details
Just as the sun is rising, a man steals from a Christmas tree farm. Getting their own tree, divorced Lorraine and her daughter, Melany, meet widowed Brian Delaney and his daughter, Carla, while Chief Sanders investigates the theft. In fact the two families live next door – the Delaney’s have just moved in. After a theft at a donation clothing bin, a man is seen wearing the clothes by the donors. When the two adults drop off their girls at school, Melany invites Carla to participate in the Christmas concert. That night Lorraine and Melany come caroling with others to the Delaney home. A theft at the Christmas food drive has Chief Sanders on alert. New town banker, Brian, meets with Lorraine to increase her accounting businesses’ overdraft. Carla invites over Melany to make Christmas cookies while the adults chat. The next day when Lorraine drops off her cookies for the Charity bake sale, boxes of cookies are stolen. Back on their street, Lorraine holds the ladder while Brian puts up his outdoor Christmas lights while the girls make a snowman family. Overnight, Chief Sanders investigates a theft from the library box of books used for a small fire. The girls go ice skating while adults go shopping. On the street, a theft occurs at the Christmas money kettle. The families go to the mall where the girls both ask Santa for their parents to get together. Overnight, someone breaks into a car to sleep. A restaurant dumpster has been pilfered for food. When the thief tries to break into Lorraine’s van, Brian gives her a big hug after the police investigate. Brian invites Lorraine back to the bank to decorate a Christmas tree after they drop off their daughters at the concert practice. When the adults don’t show up to pick up the girls, Chief Sanders brings the girls to the bank where he overtakes the robber. Overcome by the frightful emotions, the couple have their first kiss. The adults and children visit the jail to show the spirit of Christmas to the thief. Holding hands, the adults sit in the audience to see their children and Santa Sanders in the Christmas concert.
All Accolades & Coverage

THE CHRISTMAS THEFTS MYSTERY script got a RECOMMENDED script coverage by Gabriel Angi-Dobos, Story Analyst & Advisor; Screenplay Writer & Teacher, https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0029825/ . Excellent idea for a mystery series with small scale crimes and great fun in discovering them while we also follow the private lives of two working single parents who find each other and their daughters who become best friends. Great ‘cocktail’ for a lighthearted Nancy-Drew-style mystery for the 21st century. The characters are so likeable that we want to see more of them in a new episode. Great opportunity for a female lead and two early teenage girls.l
