[A detailed 4-page synopsis is available]
It’s Summertime, a crackling campfire at night, and a multi-generational beach party! Kids aged seven to seventy-seven crowd around hoping to be entertained, spooked, enthralled or all of the above.
"First up, a story that won’t traumatize the kids but should still entertain the adults."
1. Toaster! (Rated G) Even if it is hard to pass up a good deal, surely nobody means for the toaster-from-hell to be handed down from victim-to-victim in an endless curse. [Think Terry Gilliam or Joe Dante]
"Okay, now the kids go to bed and we grown-ups get some fun!"
2. Corridor: (PG) A recluse observes increasingly disturbing activities in her apartment corridor through the peephole in her door, till finally she ventures out for a closer look. [Think David Lynch or Darren Aronofsky]
"Uh, a bit too weird for me. How about some blood ‘n guts next?"
3. Find Me at the Roadside: (PG-13) Two brutal thieves on the run with a female hostage come upon a wreck at the side of the road, with a dead man at the wheel who mysteriously rejuvenates with each valuable that they plunder from the car. [Think Quentin Tarantino or Guillermo del Toro]
"Cool! That was stupid. No it wasn’t! Was. Granny and Gramps are still awake; how about something for them?"
4. The Girl: (PG) An aging executive with little zeal left for life responds to a disturbing dream by preparing for an appointment with destiny that he believes his vision predicts. [Think Ingmar Bergman or Roman Polanski]
Note: It is expected that the four segments could share their cast with each other and with the wrap-around story, and has been written accordingly.
