Synopsis/Details
In the style of the Hitchcock thrillers of the 1940s (eg. Shadow of a Doubt), yet retaining social commentary attributes as a major anti-racism piece:
Penny Gallagher, a farm girl scarred by a horrible personal tragedy, arrives in Manhattan just as America's Melting Pot and freedom of expression laws go into convulsion. While overheated patriotism and ethnic pride tear at the national fabric, she must choose between following her simple, youthful trust in people versus acting on the ominous threats growing all around her.
If you'd like to view this sequel-spawner (Penny grows into a sort of Nancy Drew character by the end), which is only a slightly fictionalized account of this dark, under-reported era in history and even has surprising analogies to our contemporary world, I look forward to sending it to you. (Also available as Pilot + Episode One)
