Owen pulls over and asks Cain to get out. Cain is surprised at this sudden change of heart, but does as he's asked. He gives Owen a warning not to stop in the next town of Harbinger Creek, whatever happens keep moving. Owen eventually arrives at Harbinger Creek, but breaks down. He has no signal on his phone and so visits the first house he comes upon and asks to use the phone. The gaunt man who lives there allows him to and so Owen calls for the breakdown service. While he waits, he hears noises down in the basement and decides to investigate. He finds a frightened man tied to a bed hooked up to a drip feeding his blood into a bag. Owen tries to run, but finds the gaunt man standing behind him with red eyes and sharp fangs. Suddenly the gaunt man is stabbed from behind and disintegrates to reveal Cain standing behind him. Cain explains the town is full of those creatures and he was heading there to kill them. He helps Owen escape the house and avoid more creatures. As Owen runs back to his car, Cain is over-run by the creatures. Owen gets into his car and locks the door. He waits impatiently, but at that moment the breakdown truck pulls up behind him. He screams at the repair man to get back in his truck, but it's no use and the repair man is attacked by the creatures. Cain arrives at the car and fixes the engine. He gets in and orders Owen to drive. They exit the town. Cain explains there were too many of them and he needs to return with back-up. Owen remarks how lucky he was to run into Cain. Cain looks out the window and agrees as his eyes glow red and he smiles revealing sharp fangs.
