Synopsis/Details
DANIEL RAMSEY is a police officer, who has been demoted and reprimanded his entire career. A simple disagreement might end in a serious confrontation with guns drawn. He also has no interest in writing simple tickets for a car parked in the wrong spot. Ramsey’s partner (JACKIE) is a younger cop who can always work out a problem with polite conversation and a handshake. His other co-worker (VANESSA) is a young and tough, and a beautiful girl who's just starting her career as a police officer. When the three are thrown together, Jackie tries to force Ramsey to follow rules, and encourage Vanessa to bend rules. The direct boss is Police Captain WATSON who is constantly scared of getting into trouble. With each disagreement, he is forced to address complaints and apologize to the public. As much as he wants Ramsey off the force, he knows the team of Ramsey, Jackie, and Vanessa solves crimes. Life at home for each of the officers is very different, because Ramsey lives with his mother, and doesn't have much of social life. Jackie deals with wife and kids and keeps work problems away from home. And Vanessa wants to date and build a relationship, but always scares potential relationships away when work comes up. Police Chief QUINCY does not want to deal with ticket writing and public disputes but wants only to investigate major crimes around the city. Although Watson stands between the chief and Ramsey, it's always a confrontation THE DEADLY WEAPON wins.

I wrote spec scripts and met with producers at Paramount Studios. I truly thought it was all going to be easy. But shows got canceled, I was too young, and my unsigned agent stopped returning phone calls. I reluctantly started a career in radio as an assistant to the assistant, then got into news (writing boring articles from aged city council meetings). Finally, I got into television. What started as a writer and producer of commercials and infomercials behind the scenes grew into a reporter and news anchor! I… Go to bio
