Synopsis/Details
The half-hour TV pilot opens hundreds of years in the future when there is only one race, a coffee-and-cream colored human called Mocha. Humankind has voted to implant itself with a chip connected to World Management’s NeuralNet, the final iteration of the Internet. Once connected, you’re part of the happy hive where everyone gets daily doses of dopamine and serotonin administered through The Chip. Hidden in a song, the Milli Vanilli Codec is the Resistance’s self-mutating file designed to get past NeuralNet’s firewall. It's up to young lovers Trevon and Jazmin to make that happen when they meet at a sidewalk café to insert the chip through Trevon's "button," an input device on every Mocha's head.
Too bad World Management is watching.
Within seconds Mocha are grabbing their heads and screaming. World Management's armed storm trooper bots swoop in to arrest them but Jazmin throws herself in front of Trevon to protect him so he can finish the transfer and is shot. Sparks fly from her chest as she collapses to the ground. She's a bot, too.
A large excavator bot scoops up Jazmin's smoking, jerking body and hauls it away. Trevon is handcuffed and led away, following the big bot with Jazmin's supine body in its arms, into an uncertain future for the Resistance.
