Synopsis/Details
After depositing a half-full bag of popcorn in the school kitchen, Polly Pigeon gives a tour of Pigeon Prep, a preparatory school for young squabs. Anita and her son Ricky, meet the principal, Walter Pigeon, before dropping in on several classes. History, where the students are introduced to the legendary Massimo Piccione, the first pigeon to discover St. Marks Square in Venice, as well as other famous pigeons. Then on to Language class, to experience a lesson in pidgin English. Arts and Crafts, unfortunately, is closed, so they miss out on instructions about making stained glass windows. But Science class is in full swing, with a lecture on homing pigeons and how they process changes in the direction, intensity, and polarity of magnetic fields surrounding the planet. Ricky and his mom are able to meet the beautiful Professor Dove, the deportment instructor. She demonstrates the proper head bob, as well as the obligatory pigeon-toed strut. The highlight for Ricky is the school's rec center, where he's able to participate in the game of pigeon drop, and as a pigeon rather than a statue. So, after a brief look at the portraits in the hall of fame, Ricky begins his enrollment with a class field trip to city hall to commission a brand new statue. Just a typical day at Pigeon Prep.
