Jack, our eternal pessimist, boards the bus driven by Sam, our eternal optimist. Not surprisingly, Jack is unhappy. He must be the only single guy his age in town without a girlfriend. He moans and groans himself to sleep on the bus, only to find that when he wakes up, who's sitting next to him, but a beautiful woman. Great.
Not so fast. He wants to buy her a birthday present, but he has no money. Why else would he be taking the bus? Another snooze and lo and behold, he's got a winning lottery ticket in his pocket. Now we're talking.
But this is Los Angeles. Money and a terrific girlfriend doesn't cut it. You gotta be famous if you want that corner table. Another bus ride, another visit to dreamland. And sure enough, he awakes with over two million likes on his Instagram photo. Gotta be enough, right?
Well, not exactly. Work’s okay, but they could replace me tomorrow and nobody'd miss me. I’d really like to do something where people really need me.
Just sleep on it Jack, advises Gus. He does and his perpetually half empty glass is finally filled.
