Synopsis/Details
Bundled into the back of a police van, feisty teenager Jade rages at how she’s been treated after a demonstration gets a little out of hand. Sitting quietly on a bench inside the van is Ellie, an older and seemingly wiser woman. She is also a veteran of marches and protests. After Jade calms down, Ellie begins talking and offers Ellie some valuable life advice. Initially, Jade has reservations about listening to an ‘old woman’, but quickly, Ellie’s life lessons, along with her calm demeanour, begin to resonate with the young woman. Jade wants to grow up and grow up fast, but Ellie warns her not to wish away her life and to live for the moment. She explains that the older one gets, the quicker time appears to go, but a ten-minute incarceration with the experienced woman in the back of a police van may be all Jade needs to embrace time and her teenage life.
