Synopsis/Details
Melissa is the new "Equestrian Counselor" at a girls' camp in Maine. She's from Kentucky, overwhelmed, and homesick, but she knows how to handle horses - and boys. Ben is the camp handyman who teases her "hillbilly" accent - and gets punched regularly. When Melissa stumbles over a clue, the police have questions. Antiques are being looted from lake houses. The reward is substantial. Teaming with Ben, they root through a junkyard after clues and are nearly savaged by a junkyard dog. Worse, the camp director is suspected, the camp might close, and both be out of a job! On a break, daring each other, Melissa trudges through a swamp and Ben falls off a horse. Their suspects are angry lawn sprayers, a dotty old bird watcher, and a snarky insurance agent. Melissa spots the last clue: the antiques are stolen in a tricked-out lawn spray truck. But Ben goes missing just as the bad guys light a forest fire around the camp! Melissa helps evacuate and races after Ben's kidnappers with a trusty snapping turtle as a weapon. Surprises abound as the culprits are exposed, Ben and Melissa claim the reward, and finally kiss!
