Synopsis/Details
A team of movers is charged with cleaning out an old house for its new owner. The previous owners - the Larkins - are gone, and no one is sure where they went. In one room, the men find an old bed. It is so heavy, they cannot move it. They decide to take it out in pieces.
As one man starts this chore, the bed comes to life. The mattress bends, forming a kind of mouth, and sucks the man inside. Another mover soon takes over the job and suffers the same fate.
The boss of the group, disgusted with what he thinks is his co-workers' laziness, starts the job on his own. The door to the room slams and locks itself. The bed rises up on its foot board, as though standing. He sees the bloody heads of his co-workers resting on the pillows. Determined not to die like that, the boss charges at the room's only window and falls three floors to the ground.
The realtor arrives and finds the boss's dead body. He calls the owner of the moving company about the accident. There is no sign of the other two men. The bed, now showing not a trace of blood, is resting against the wall like it always has. As the realtor is bemoaning all the extra work he now has to do, the bed comes alive again. He screams as we hear a siren approaching outside.
