Synopsis/Details
Nebish Herman Terwilliger, a birder, meets an odd pregnant woman at the park. She bets him $20 that a blue tit - a bird most often seen only in England - will soon appear before him. After some convincing, he accepts the wager. Shortly, it happens! Herman hands the woman the money. As she accepts it, the tit perches on her shoulder for a moment. Then she transforms into a female blue tit before Herman's eyes. She holds the money in her beak as they both fly up to their nest. They use the bills to strengthen their home. Herman is amazed at what he just saw. In a bird book he was reading, he finds a tit feather on the page about that variety of bird. He smiles and leaves the park to the unmistakable sound of blue tit trills.
