Synopsis/Details:

"Copper and Daisy" is about two kids who really love their pets: Bobby, with his ailing Siamese, Copper, and an extroverted girl, Alexa, with her playful beagle, Daisy.

But the strange thing is, Bobby's conversations with his cat Copper, are more than just playful pet talk. Copper can talk back, somehow! When Bobby teaches Alexa how to communicate with her beloved Daisy, the kids and pets form a deep bond.

(Note: The story is not technology driven. The animals are written to speak through telepathy, as v.o., without moving mouths/CGI effects.)

A heartbreaking event, and 15 long years, separates the kids from one another. Will their childhood bond be able to bring them together again? Get out your hanky!

Young and old and men and women ought to like this one, especially anyone who's ever owned and loved a pet of any kind. But touching on issues that include unemployment, poverty, bullying, and the hard choices parents must make, this story is far more than just "sweet".

The Writer: Steve Garry

I wrote my first screenplay in 2008: A "fan fiction" sequel to my favorite film. The exercise served as a release of my pent-up wishes and hopes for what might have "happened next" in that movie. It began a creative outburst that was surprising, yet somehow predicable, too, for composition was my favorite subject in my earliest years of elementary school. But somewhere between then and now, I must have felt that writing wasn't a serious or possibly an attainable career. My writing methodology is unique because I use many of the same skills I used for decades as a software programmer. The stories must be both "logical" and "bug free". Oh, and hopefully thought-provoking, entertaining,... Go to bio
