Synopsis/Details
In Dancing With Myself, we follow the complex journey of Dan, born Heather, who was abandoned by their parents for identifying as male. Growing up under a cloud of rejection, Dan assumes a new identity, shielding their true self from a world that wasn't ready to accept them. Despite enduring societal intolerance and witnessing the cruel realities faced by the LGBTQ+ community, Dan becomes best friends with Tiffany, suppressing deeper feelings for her.
When Tiffany falls for Gunnar, a man Dan suspects is using her as a "beard" to hide his own sexuality, the years of repression, trauma, and unrequited love finally break Dan’s fragile control. Taking on the persona of Heather, Dan kidnaps Gunnar, seeking to force him to confront his own truth. Meanwhile, Tiffany turns to Dan, unaware that her best friend is also her fiancé’s captor.
As the tension builds, secrets unravel, leading to a shocking confrontation where Tiffany finds herself trapped alongside Gunnar in a twisted house of horrors, both victims of Dan’s emotional unraveling. Dancing With Myself explores the devastating impact of hiding one’s true self, the pain of unfulfilled love, and the dangerous consequences of repression.
