Synopsis/Details
Major Dodge and his son JR attend a funeral, where Major grapples with unresolved emotions stemming from his past, particularly the death of JR's mother. JR, reluctant and scared, clings to his clown doll, BoBo, for comfort. Despite Major's attempts to guide JR through the grieving process, their strained relationship becomes evident.
As they navigate the funeral, they encounter Jess, a stern figure who challenges Major's approach to parenting and grieving. Additionally, they meet a compassionate clown who offers them wisdom and perspective on life and death. Through interactions with various mourners, including a woman dressed as a clown, Major and JR confront their fears and misunderstandings about mortality.
Amidst tension and emotional turmoil, Major and JR's bond is tested, but they ultimately find understanding and reconciliation. JR, inspired by the clown's teachings, confronts his fear of death and approaches the casket, where he discovers unexpected truths about life and love. In a touching moment, Major and JR come to terms with their grief and find solace in each other's presence.
