Young Nicky Prescott believes he has the power to heal the sick. When word of this gift gets on the news, Nicky is kidnapped a crime boss’s two thugs. They take him to an abandoned shack. The boss – Mr. Harker – soon arrives.
His five-year-old granddaughter, Becky, is very ill in the hospital. Nicky knows that he shouldn’t talk to strangers, but Harker gets him to agree that he’ll try to make Becky well – mainly because she has never seen an elephant, his favorite animal.
Harker drives Nicky to the hospital. There, he does his best to cure Becky. Now he must go home, wish really hard for it, and sleep on the wish.
An employee of Harker’s takes Nicky home.
Days later, Nicky gets a special-delivery letter – lifetime passes to the zoo from an anonymous donor. On the back of Nicky’s pass is a note from Becky thanking him and promising that she’ll see him by the elephants.
