After a near-fatal car accident, CLAIRE THOMAS awakens to find her entire world literally reversed—text appears backward, traffic flows in the wrong direction, and even the dashboard controls in her car are flipped. While doctors dismiss her condition as a psychological response to trauma, Claire becomes increasingly convinced that something more profound has happened.

As Claire struggles to adapt to her reversed perception, her husband KYLE and mother-in-law DENISE grow concerned about her erratic behavior and apparent detachment from their infant son, NOAH. Claire notices subtle differences in Noah—his birthmark appears on the wrong side—reinforcing her suspicion that something is fundamentally wrong with her reality.

When traditional medical approaches fail, Claire meets DR. ALEX ROURKE, an unconventional psychiatrist who introduces her to a shocking theory: she's experiencing "dimensional displacement." Rourke shares the story of a previous patient, Daniel Ferris, who had identical symptoms before taking his own life. According to his suicide note, Ferris believed death was his only path home.

As Claire's behavior becomes more desperate, Kyle and Denise arrange an intervention. FATHER MICHAEL, their parish priest, attempts a spiritual deliverance using mirrors, inadvertently revealing glimpses of Claire's "true" reality in the reflections. Convinced she must die to return home, Claire attempts suicide and is institutionalized.

In the psychiatric facility, DENISE visits Claire to twist the knife, revealing she's filing for custody of Noah and has obtained a restraining order against Rourke. At Claire's lowest moment, Kyle has a change of heart, defying his mother by bringing Rourke to help Claire escape.

Their plan goes awry when police intervene. In the chaotic escape, Claire finds herself alone behind the wheel of an ambulance, her reversed perception making driving nearly impossible. When she encounters a deer on the road—just like in her original accident—Claire realizes this is her chance.

With police in pursuit and her only ally injured, Claire faces an impossible choice: remain trapped in this mirrored reality forever, or risk everything on Rourke's dangerous theory that death itself might be her only way home. The final crash will either end her journey entirely or finally return her to where she truly belongs.
