Synopsis/Details
Andrea Hoffman, around 50 who is cooking meal for her husband seems irritated with the sound of her sick husband coming from her bedroom. She goes inside the bedroom to find her husband, Jerol Hoffman, around 60, suffering from motor neuron disease, lying on the bed and looking angrily at her for bringing his soup late. With great difficulty she helps him sit upright. He throws both the soup and the spoon on the floor and Andrea complains about his short temper and silent tantrums while sweeping the floor clean. Then Andrea goes to buy medicine for her husband while suffering from horrible cold. She picks up Advil for herself from over the counter but doesn’t pay for it as she finds out she doesn’t have enough money in her wallet. She only pays for her husband’s medicine and leaves.
As Andrea and Jerol sits on the bench of the park, Andrea looks for job in the newspaper and complains Jerol that she has been out of job because of him and that she is looking for job because of him. She blames him for getting fired and being unavailable in the last job. Jerol finally says “sorry” with great difficulty and points at a beautiful flower in the garden. Andrea plucks it and hands it to Jerol. Jerol who looks guilty for troubling Andrea hands the flower back to Andrea while smiling. Andrea appreciates his effort for making her happy. While the couple is having lunch, Linda, around 50, Andrea’s classmate bumps in to the couple. She shows disgust and looks down on her. When Linda asks Andrea about how many kids she has, to that she becomes upset. Jerol vomits suddenly making both Linda and Andrea concerned. Linda feels disgusted and walks away, leaving the couple alone and making Andrea feel embarrassed.
When they are back home, Andrea blames Jerol for ruining her life and making her feel an outcast. She wishes and tells him that he dies and leaves her for good. Andrea walks out of the room angrily leaving Jerol who cries alone in the room. When Andrea cools down and walks in to the room with a food tray, to her horror she finds him dead. She shakes him and his hand falls. When she starts crying she gets a phone call from her employer informing her that she finally got the job. She hangs up immediately throwing the phone at the corner of the room. She moves to her lifeless body of her husband and clutches his hand and the flower he gave her tightly.
