Logline:
As the Black Plague terrorizes Medieval England, a cat flees for his life when superstitious humans target him and his fellow felines for eradication, even as millions of disease-carrying rats multiply across the land.
Synopsis/Details:

In the year 1349, Caesar, a Naval Officer's beloved but tough-as-nails pet tabby cat, returns to England with his Master from battle in the 100 Year War. But the home they arrive to has become a nightmare of death, as a hideous illness is sweeping the country. Believing cats are connected to devil worship and may be the cause of the plague, citizens murder every feline they can find. Meanwhile, disease-spreading rodents, led by Yersinia the Rat Queen, multiply by the millions across the land.

With a third of England's people already struck down by the Black Death, can Caesar and his fellow felines, the natural predators to the rat, survive Mankind's attempt to exterminate cats in order to thwart the rats' extermination of Mankind?

The story contains a mix of human and (at times, cute) animal characters. It might even be something Disney or Fox animators would create when the boss isn't looking! But due to its sometimes grotesque imagery and elaborate and violent action, it is definitely not for very young children.

If you'd like to view the script or detailed synopsis for this unusual but heroic story, which has significant franchise and alternate media (ie. graphic novel) potential, I look forward to sending the PDF(s) to your attention. (Also available as Pilot + Episode One)

The Writer: Steve Garry

I wrote my first screenplay in 2008, at the age of 52. It was a surprise, yet predicable too, for composition was my favorite subject in my earliest years of elementary school. But somewhere between the ages of 10 and 52, I must have felt that writing wasn't a serious or possibly an attainable career. My writing methodology is unique because I use many of the same skills I used for decades as a software programmer. The stories must be both "logical" and "bug free". Oh, and hopefully, thought-provoking, entertaining, suspenseful, or humorous, often in the same script, with captivating characters and story lines, especially given the complex themes I often take on in my work.
