Synopsis/Details
The year is 2033 and it's been years since the outbreak. Most of the world itself looks like a wasteland, but the cities, in most places, are bordered off and still thriving with humans. There is no longer a currency; only credit. The breakout causes a mutation in people, much like a zombie, when they are bitten or mauled by one of the creatures. In this film they are referred to as "Reapers". Unlike the conventional "zombie", these creatures are extremely aggressive and strong for the first 2 days after changing. It's become an epidemic, but they have it under control. The questions begs "what to do with them"? Started off by putting them in sports, but they weren't interested in a ball or competing in any way. They were put into cages to fight each other, but they weren't interested in that either. They only wanted to get at the humans. Fast forward 10 years after the outbreak and the remaining people watch MMA, with the inclusion of Reapers, as a sport. Not only do the guys have to fight each other, after one minute they must fight off a Reaper as well. People are crazy (like WWE crazy) for the Reapers inside the cages. Story SYN: Grady and his brother Paul were dropped off together at an orphanage very young. Paul is the oldest, but not a fighter. Grady is the fighter and he’s damn good at it. The problem is the sport no longer calls for fighter versus fighter. Reapers are now involved. Grady and Paul just want to make one last big payday and get out of the biz before it gets too crazy, but Grady has no experience with the Reapers. Paul brings Grady to Bear, a huge 6'8 320 lb man, to help him train to fight Reapers in the cage. While there, Grady learns a lot from this giant man with a metal hand. A flash back scene tells the story of Bear's lost hand and why it's been replaced. Tragedy strikes when Paul is bitten and Grady must make a decision to push forward. He makes a strong comeback and shows up to his final payday with Bear in tow. Before the fights ever begin an accident happens backstage and the Reapers take over the arena. Grady and a band of misfit fighters must battle their way through the Reapers to make it out alive, rescuing a few people on the way. An unexpected accident happens and Grady faces his toughest fight yet! "MMA vs Zombies" sounds corny, but the story I have is heartfelt, full of action and very funny. Not funny in a goofy, spoof, sort of way. The characters are loveable and hilarious in each their own way. You must read it to truly appreciate it.

The Writer: Raymond (Ray) Scanlon

You can check my stuff out on IMDb . I write in most genres and in any format. I can write a feature first draft in a week given the proper motivation. I write upon request for others' ideas as well as consistent with my own personal writing. Action, Adventure, Comedy , and Horror are my strong points, but I can do pretty much all genres. I even write faith-based children's shows (PBS), romantic comedies, teen shows, family, and more. I have over 20 that are completed : features , shorts, and pilots. I have many more that are halfway done and will be complete upon request for that type of film. I am easy to work with and understand that what I write is for sale. It's business , and I don't… Go to bio
