After a drunken night, Pete finds a lion tattoo on his chest. His friend, Joel, tells him that he decided to get the tattoo after being very insulting to the Asian artist. Before long, the tattoo begins to grow. . . and even sprout fur! Shaving the fur off does no good. It just comes back fuller.
Pete and Joel try to find the artist, but his shop is empty and gated. They learn that he has moved back to China. With something of a lead, Joel tries to find him to get the spell (or whatever it is) reversed.
While he is busy doing this, the lion tatt takes Pete over completely. In lion form, he kills his girlfriend and hurries off to the nearby woods.
Joel does find the artist, but he says he cannot reverse the spell as he intentionally used an irreversible one.
Realizing that the lion is his friend, Joel joins a sheriff's hunting party for it. He is almost killed by the lion, but the sheriff saves his life. As the lion dies, Joel sees what looks like a tattoo on its side, shrinking as the lion nears its death. The tattoo looks like Pete! Before the lion dies, the tattoo manages to speak one word: Help.
