While preparing his yet-to-be-born child's bedroom, a young husband finds a murder confession hidden under some stripped wallpaper. It is from a previous occupant, and it admits to the murder of his two daughters. The police arrive and begin an investigation. The girls have been missing for years, and suspicion has always centered on their missing father. The mother-to-be dreams of the two girls. She feels that are begging her to find them.
The wife suddenly takes to sleepwalking, something she has never done before, always ending up asleep on the stone cellar floor. The husband takes steps to keep his wife safe - walking down the cellar while asleep isn't very safe! - but she finds ways around them. Finally, early one morning, the baby in her womb starts moving frantically - as though it's trying to tell her something. They follow the baby's "directions" to the cellar, where they find the skeletal remains of the two girls stuffed into the pipes of a disused coal heating system.
