Synopsis/Details
College professor Douglas Pierce hires space jockey Raymond Whitfield for a trip to the newly discovered Wentek Cluster. Some believe the Cluster is an intrusion into space of Heaven. Doug dismisses the idea.
Nearing the Cluster a week later, both men get “calls.” Doug’s call is from his late wife, Karen. She informs him that the belief is true. However, the Heavenly powers that be are working to fix the problem as soon as possible.
After a fight with Ray, Doug ends up in an EVA suit floating toward the Cluster. He is not connected to the ship by a lifeline and is moving ever closer to the multicolored thing. Ray is unable to convince him to return to the ship.
Ray sees a human hand reach out from the Cluster. There is also a momentary glimpse of a face. Doug takes the offered hand and is pulled inside the Cluster, which promptly collapses to nothing.
Ray’s computer research finds that that the glimpsed face belongs to Karen Pierce. The video of the event shows that Doug, while being pulled into the Cluster, is happily smiling.
