When the inscription on her wedding band keeps changing, a widow concludes that her late husband needs her help. Her mother-in-law tries to dissuade her from that idea, but she won't listen. The inscription keeps changing - almost daily - to the point where the widow is found atop her late husband's sealed casket, hysterical and desperately trying to open it.
Resting at her mother-in-law's house, she is surprised to find a drawer full of wedding bands - all inscribed and her size. Her mother-in-law has been changing them often on her, hoping to have her declared incompetent so her son's estate will go to her. A small price to pay for millions. As the mother-in-law is just about to kill her daughter-in-law, she slips on a ring on the floor, shooting and killing herself. The widow realizes that the ring was her true wedding band.
