Synopsis/Details
Ex-con Nickie Lucas wants to live simply, work with his brother Danny as a welder, and avoid trouble with the law— and the Weaver family—at all costs. The problem is, in Strong Land, you can’t avoid either—because the Weavers are everywhere—and some Weavers are the law. Before Thanksgiving, in the heart of Strong Land, two of Nickie’s aunts are murdered and left to bleed out into Blood Creek. First at the scene is State Trooper Carthy Weaver. Nickie doesn’t have faith that Carthy will do a damn thing to bring the killer to justice. Nickie, Danny, and Nickie’s pregnant girlfriend, half-Cherokee Indian, Hummingbird, set out to find the killer.
