Synopsis/Details
Maryi, a vibrant 24-year-old with a magnetic presence, stands in a luxurious bridal suite, lost in a daydream. She admires herself in the mirror, resplendent in a baby blue wedding dress—a symbol of loyalty and honesty, she believes. Her long dreadlocks cascade over her shoulders, and her confidence radiates as she prepares to walk down the aisle. In her mind, she is moments away from marrying the man who saved her: a man who knows her past, her fears, and her deepest desires. He cherishes her, protects her, and makes her feel whole. With him, she believes she has finally escaped the cycle of empty encounters and broken promises. As she poses and preens, Maryi reflects on their unique love story. There is no veil—because he insists she has nothing to hide—and no white dress—because they refuse to pretend they are something they’re not. Their love is built on truth, trust, and mutual devotion. She clutches a piece of paper, her self-written vows, and recites them with a heart full of gratitude. For the first time, she feels seen, valued, and truly loved. But this is all a fantasy. The daydream shatters as Maryi wakes in her bedroom, alone. The glow of her phone illuminates a cruel text message from her ex-lover, a man who once adored her. His words cut deep: "You wouldn’t be in this situation if you were loyal." He accuses her of treating him like a trophy, of cheating on him, and of never truly loving herself. The message is a brutal mirror, reflecting a truth she’s spent years avoiding.
