Synopsis/Details
Dance with the Devil is a tale of lost innocence and retribution (with nudity). Catherine, a young nun struggling with her commitment to Christ and The Church, is informed that her sister has been killed. Upon notifying her Mother Superior that she plans on journeying to The City to investigate the circumstances surrounding her sibling's death, Catherine is given an ultimatum - leave the convent and she will not be permitted to return. Convinced she failed her sister in life, and determined to make amends, Catherine reluctantly relinquishes her vows and begins her odyssey.
From the police detective investigating the case Catherine learns her sister was working as a topless dancer/prostitute when she was murdered. Since the police have no suspects Catherine decides to go undercover at the topless bar where her sibling worked - she is able to convince the owner to hire her as a bartender rather than as a dancer.
Catherine quickly strikes up a friendship with Maribel, a dancer who helps educate Catherine about the facts of life. While appalled by the carnal atmosphere of a topless bar, Catherine also finds it exhilarating. Due to her own growing attraction to this world, Catherine suffers a crisis of conscience. And while she continues to attend confession in church, she no longer feels fully absolved.
After rebuffing the sleazy bar owner's advances, Catherine loses her preferential treatment and must begin dancing topless or lose her job. With Maribel acting as coach, Catherine gains the confidence to get on stage, and to her surprise, revels in the experience. She is an immediate sensation with the topless bar’s patrons - especially after performing a dance routine in a nun’s habit.
Throughout, Catherine is being spied on by an unseen stalker (and presumptive murderer). Careful to keep her past a secret, Catherine continues to probe, and to her shock learns that her deceased sister was the lover of another dancer at the club. Catherine has to fend off the advances of this dancer but still pump her for information.
She eventually discovers that her sister moonlighted as a dominatrix at an S&M club called The Chamber. When another dancer turns up dead Catherine is compelled to push her investigation further. She must assume the role of dominatrix if she is to gain entrance to The Chamber and get the answers she seeks. What Catherine eventually learns about her sister's death and long-buried secrets regarding her own past would have been better off left unearthed.
