Synopsis/Details
CYRENE ZORBELLI has worked behind the scenes for years, helping rising politicians achieve their dreams of office, but fears she is responsible for putting tyrants in positions of power. When recruited to manage an unfolding crisis at a private space venture, she finds the COO of the company, REEVE THORNTON, especially untenable. Six people are trapped in an automated shuttle, doomed to die if Reeve can't bring them back to Earth. Worse, the launch is live-streaming on social media and has become a PR nightmare, the company's stock and future viability being bled off each second he yammers. Reeve ignores Cyrene's advice over the course of the day until the situation reaches a crisis point when Reeve admits that the passengers will probably all die, live, and on camera. Blaming Cyrene for his blunder, he fires her, but the dismissal is short-lived as Reeve ultimately realizes he does need help. Reeve swallows his pride and begs her to come back. Cyrene is grateful that Reeve admits he was wrong, so she returns, solves the PR crisis, and brilliantly suggests a concentrated blast of pressurized gas to push the shuttle back into Earth orbit, where it will safely land in the ocean. Reeve offers her a job. Knowing the road will be challenging, but seeing the potential for change in Reeve, she accepts the job, hopeful. SEASON OVERVIEW / THE SERIES Each week follows a new PR crisis, as Reeve's glib tweets draw contempt from the public and put his fortunes in jeopardy. Despite his reckless ambition, he is a ceaseless innovator, and Cyrene is constantly challenged to steer the ship into the wave vs. being pulled under by the weight of his massive ego. Future seasons would pit her with new 'Deplorable' bosses; the son of a controversial, reigning president (maybe in America, maybe overseas), a right-wing news commentator, a canceled actor, and the like.

The Writer: Caleb Dillon

Caleb Dillon is an award-winning multi-hypenate filmmaker developing projects in North Carolina. Hailing from a long tradition of storytellers, Caleb grew up in rural Appalachia, listening to his kin spin yarns from porch swings and rockers; a skill he now puts to good use. Caleb writes historical, high-concept genre, and family drama through the lens of broken families; he's just as happy writing sword-and-sandal epics as indie darlings. Caleb is currently in post-production on his next short film, Good Behavior . The script was a Finalist in the HollyShorts Screenwriting Competition.
