Synopsis/Details
The 90s were a time of boy bands and bubble gum pop stars. But what happens after a brief flicker of success is over and you hold on too long? Has Been follows a pop star sensation who overstayed his welcome in the music industry. It's a live-action, ½ hour scripted musical rom-dram (TV-MA). Its Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll meets Eastbound and Down. THE PILOT It's 1990 something. We are in a jam-packed concert venue and thirty thousand fans are screaming one name - JORDAN HAMMER, as he performs with the boy band Harmony. Cut to 25 years later, the venue is now a mall with daytime shoppers. Things are not going well for Jordan. After his record label drops him and his wife leaves him, Jordan finds himself alone, in financial ruin, squatting in his own house. Soon evicted, Jordan returns to his humble hometown and moves into his dad's basement. He runs into Kelsey Swords, his high school girlfriend that he ghosted years ago. Her life long ago moved on, but there might still be 'something' there worth rekindling. Jordan decides that the best way to get back what he lost is put the boy band back together. Along the way, he'll have to face his demons and swallow his pride time after time.

Hailing from a long tradition of storytellers, Caleb grew up in rural Appalachia, listening to his kin spin yarns from porch swings and rockers; a skill he now puts to good use. Caleb writes historical, high-concept genre, and family drama through the lens of broken families; he's just as happy writing sword-and-sandal epics as indie darlings. Caleb is currently in post-production on his next short film, Good Behavior . The script was a Finalist in the HollyShorts Screenwriting Competition.
