Synopsis/Details
This high-concept half-hour animated family comedy is a fairy-tale mash-up/retelling of treasured classics. Its Disenchantment meets Shrek, jam-packed with easily recognizable fairytale characters but with a twist. Every story is now seen through the eyes of the supposed Villain. We get to see their side of the story and see who they really are, Warts and All. Were Hansel and Gretal actually trespassing? Do you know how annoying Cinderella actually is? And let's not get started on why Rapunzel was REALLY confined to a tall tower. Warts and All will explore the alternate perspectives of these characters and many more, proving once and for all that there really are two sides to every story. Future episodes will add to the already existing cast of characters as their lives interweave. The Pied Piper can help the Witch in the Gingerbread House attract some new customers, but she can't keep up with demand. Meanwhile, a down-on-his-luck Gaston tries to woo Lady's Tremaine's other daughters. If the project were developed at Disney, classic animated assets could be repurposed for added nostalgia, bringing renewed life to beloved characters.

The Writer: Caleb Dillon

Caleb Dillon is an award-winning multi-hypenate filmmaker developing projects in North Carolina. Hailing from a long tradition of storytellers, Caleb grew up in rural Appalachia, listening to his kin spin yarns from porch swings and rockers; a skill he now puts to good use. Caleb writes historical, high-concept genre, and family drama through the lens of broken families; he's just as happy writing sword-and-sandal epics as indie darlings. Caleb is currently in post-production on his next short film, Good Behavior . The script was a Finalist in the HollyShorts Screenwriting Competition.
