Synopsis/Details
The film opens with three women in separate luxury homes, each going through the mundane rituals of maintaining their relationships. Sarah cleans up after her slovenly boyfriend while reflecting on how relationships deteriorate from romantic beginnings to domestic servitude. Maria does laundry and drinks heavily, masking her pain behind expensive surroundings. Keisha takes an extended shower, using the moment for self-pleasure while contemplating the gap between sexual performance and genuine intimacy.
Through voice-over narration, each woman reveals their philosophy: they've chosen material comfort over authentic love, trading their bodies and dignity for financial security. They acknowledge they're essentially high-end sex workers disguised as girlfrivers, but justify it through the lifestyle it affords them.
The three women converge at Maria's house for a dinner party. Their boyfriends and male friends treat them as servers and sexual objects rather than companions. The facade of friendship between the women crumbles as underlying competition and resentment surface.
